A Fun Shoot on a Hot Day

It was +30°C.

I met Cynthia while doing photos for the Snow Globe Festival of Children's Theatre. As a Christmas present, she wanted to get a multi-generational family photo done. They were all going to be together in July and it would be the perfect opportunity.

Seven months later, we met up at Mill Creek ravine on the, to that point, hottest day of the year. Two grandparents, several kids and partners and 5 dogs later, we got some pretty fun stuff. They were such a great group to work with and I think it shows in the shots I got.

Take a look here and then head over to the Portraits section of the page to see other family photos we've done.

Naisa, Stera & Samara

Naisa and I worked together for years schlepping coffee at Starbucks. Through the virtues of Facebook we have stayed in touch long since we made our last lattés.

She has since been married and had her beautiful daughter, Samara.

It was time for family photos, so Brad and I went out to Rundle park with these three to capture a moment in time of this young family. Between the geese and the wadding in the water to get the shot, we had a blast.

Check out what we got from that day and more like this in the Portraits section of the site.

A Warm Family on a Cold Day

Happy New Year everyone!

I love being able to help out during the holidays. Chantal approached me wanting family photos that she could give as Christmas presents to her family.

They hadn't had professional photos done in a long time and really wanted to capture a moment in time of their young family.

We were more than happy to oblige. We met out at her family's farm, outside of Sherwood Park on a cold Sunday and had a blast. The kids were so great and seemed to be having a fun time, despite having to quickly run back into their cabin every five minutes or so to warm up.

Check out the Portraits section of our site for other family sessions we have done.

The Benefits of a Photography Partnership

As Brad and I are always trying to learn and grow with our photography, sometimes we need to practice setups, lighting, posing. It works out well that my wife and daughter are always up for a shoot.

We are currently expecting our second and thought it would be a great time to head out to her father's property just north of the city and do a maternity/family/fall shoot. The weather was perfect, the light was awesome and he were able to capture a moment in time of our family.

Check out the shots below a see what we mean.

Thanks Brad for doing such a great job!
